Islamic Youth Leadership & Entrepreneurship

The Islamic Youth Leadership & Entrepreneurship initiative is a flagship pillar of the World Islamic Economy Development (WIED), created to equip Muslim youth with the skills, values, and mindset needed to become ethical leaders and purpose-driven entrepreneurs. By aligning entrepreneurship with Islamic principles, this program nurtures a generation that leads with integrity, innovation, and social responsibility.

Mission

To provide holistic platforms, programs, and partnerships that enable youth to lead, create, and transform the world through entrepreneurship, leadership, and faith-based excellence.

Key Focus Areas

Values-Driven Leadership Development

  • Train youth in Islamic leadership ethics, public speaking, and strategic thinking
  • Provide access to mentorship programs with global Muslim leaders and industry experts
  • Promote youth participation in policy, community development, and global forums

Entrepreneurship & Startup Incubation

  • Launch Halal Startup Incubators and Shariah-Compliant Accelerator Programs
  • Offer seed funding, pitch competitions, and impact investment opportunities
  • Focus on sectors such as Islamic fintech, halal lifestyle, green tech, and social enterprises

Islamic Innovation Bootcamps & Hackathons

  • Host innovation labs and bootcamps that blend design thinking and maqasid al-shariah
  • Engage students and young professionals to solve real-world problems with Islamic solutions
  • Encourage tech-for-good initiatives aligned with Islamic economy values

Global Youth Networks & Collaborations

  • Build cross-border partnerships among youth in OIC countries and beyond
  • Facilitate student exchanges, leadership summits, and interfaith innovation dialogues
  • Promote collective action through a Youth for Islamic Economy Alliance (Y4IEA)

Why It Matters?

Muslim youth represent over 65% of the population in OIC countries - yet face high unemployment, underrepresentation, and limited access to capital. Through WIED, we unlock their potential to lead the future economy, not just as participants — but as pioneers of change.
